Will FTS Care be able to provide a holistic care programme for young people?

  • FTS Care prides itself on the quality of placements it provides. Through continuous assessment, consultation and communication we work with a professional team which includes; Social Services, Teachers, Consultant Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Clinical Assistants and experienced and knowledgeable Residential Workers. This ensures that all young people placed with FTS Care are offered a complete care placement in line with their individual needs and care plans.

Is there a time limit on placements?

  • No. Many young people will stay with us for a year or so, but some may only stay for a number of months.

What do the weekly fees include?

  • Our fees are inclusive of all social care needs i.e. clothing, toiletries, activities, travel and day to day living expenses.

If the placement breaks down will there be an expectation to move the children immediately?

  • FTS Care does not anticipate placement breakdowns. In the rare occurrence that there is break down FTS Care will endeavour to move on all young people in a planned way and will negotiate with the placing authority.

What are the criteria for placement?

  • FTS Care will accept referrals to the home for young people, male and female, who are aged 11 – 18 years and who are experiencing a crisis in their lives and need a period of structured stabilisation outside of their present environment. Young people referred to FTS Care may have, a learning difficulty, ADHD, a diagnosed mental illness, an autistic spectrum disorder or a socialised conduct disorder.

How do young people spend their time at FTS Care?

  • All young people are expected to be involved in education Monday to Friday during term time. Outside of school hours and at weekends, staff are proactive in encouraging young people to become involved in a wide range of interests, hobbies and activities which are time-tabled within individual care plans.

What are the staffing levels within the home?

  • A minimum of two residential staff will be on duty at all times during the day with additional support from the Unit manager. On week days a domestic member of staff will be on duty. There will be two members of staff on duty and awake at night.
